Talking to Jesus

My dear Clay has a pair of cowboy boots that his daddy bought him.  He loves these boots so much that he wants to wear them all the time.  He doesn't get the reasoning behind not wearing the boots with shorts, so I just had to tell him that it's the rules.  He then told me that Jesus makes the rules.  So, I told him how Jesus put the rules in the Bible and that one of the rules was that we had to mind our mommy & daddy.  SO... He started talking to Jesus.  It went something like this...... "Jesus, I want to wear my boots.  Can you make it a rule that I can wear my boots?"  He then answered "yes"  Made it very hard to stick to my guns after that.

Valentines - The good, the great and the bad.

Tomorrow is supposedly the most romantic holiday of the year.  Not being much of one for romance, I am all too thrilled that my husband has gotten me a new washer and dryer for V-Day.  It was exciting for Clayton to get experience his first card exchange this week.  Of course, he loved all the treats!  Brittany got to experience her first real Valentine from a boy.  He gave her a jewelry box and said that he wanted to more than just friends.... What does that mean at 9yo?  My poor Michael though is a shy kid that put his heart out there and got to experience his first taste of rejection.  Simply put, she said no.... and a mother's heart breaks.
